50th Season of SDAV Presentation Awards 2016

Well what a season 2016 has turned out to be.

We finished of the season with a total of 13 Race Meetings.

My results were: 9 wins, 1 second, 2 Thirds, and a sixth.

At the awards night celebrating the 50th season of the SDAV , I took out the Club Championship and the Thunder Down Under Series for the 3rd year in a row.

Now making it 4 Club Championships and 4 Thunder Down Under Series Wins overall, not a bad effort if I do say so myself in a racing career of 10years.

Also taking home the perpetual Trophies for the

Ray Welsh Memorial and the V.S.C. Victorian Championship.

It was very pleasing to have all my family with me on the night to enjoy it all, their support for me throughout my racing is unwavering through the wins and the losses, and the time away from home.

My wife Kelly, my daughter Kirsten and my boys Tyler and Jay…… Love you heaps….

* My two boys and I, enjoying the night with a couple of the awards.

To my crew chief Phil Martin a huge thank you for all your support and help throughout the race season, to come away and spend time away from your own family to help me with my racing is something I really appreciate, and I could not do it without you.

To all my sponsors, some who have been with me from the start, your support is greatly appreciated as there is no doubt without your input and support I would not be doing this at all.

  • Who knows maybe they will be back for next season.

So we enjoy a break from racing now and have time to rest and start getting the car ready for another season 2017, I thank  all who have given me any support and who read my web site

And I look forward to catching you at the track in 2017.

Cheers  Westy.

  • On a side note I was contacted by the Victoria Speedway Council, the governing body who runs speedway throughout Victoria, and told that I had been nominated for the Victoria Speedway Driver of the year , This award covers all divisions of speedway, so just to be nominated is a huge honor. Well as it turned out I won the bloody thing !!!!
